Dedicated to Change
Sexual abuse and the mistreatment of children may usually occur in secret, behind closed doors, but they have very public consequences. Victims, their families, and their communities pay a very high price decades after the violence ends.
CHILD USA cuts through the shame and the secrecy to gather and analyze the data behind abuse and neglect. CHILD USA presents this information to legislators and other policy makers so they can make decisions we believe will build a child-centered society that will help kids thrive – and hold adults who harm them accountable. Your donation will make that possible.
Wall of Heroes
CHILD USA is building a Wall of Heroes to honor the victims of child abuse or neglect as well as their allies in the child protection sphere. The Wall of Heroes is a dynamic forum where we can recognize and honor these remarkable individuals.

Athletes & Abuse Symposium
april 25, 2018 | Houston Hall at University of Pennsylvania
CHILD USA in conjunction with the Ortner Center and the University of Pennsylvania will be hosting an Athletes and Abuse Symposium on instances of abuse and neglect in sport. The symposium will be comprised of four breakout sessions. The first will be geared towards youth sports; the second will cover high school and college athletics; the third will focus on incidence of abuse and neglect among elite or Olympic-level athletes; and the final panel will cover professional sports.
This one-day symposium, held the day before the Penn Relays, will examine athletes and abuse across the spectrum of sports and ages. Leading experts, athletes, officials, and policymakers will shine a light on how to change the sports culture that puts children at risk.
